Join CATAN enthusiasts from around the world at our inaugural Digital CATAN World Championship! Pick a Ranking Qualifier Event in September or October and play your best to attempt to qualify for the Finals on Novemebr 13, 2021.
The 2021 Digital CATAN World Championship will be held on CATAN Universe, the multi-platform adaptation of CATAN for smartphones, tablets, Windows, and Mac.

The Digital CATAN World Championship takes place in two parts. Part one consists of Ranking Qualifier events. Part two is a single-elimination Tournament Round to take place on November 13, 2021. These events will take place on CATAN Universe and will use the Auto Match Tournament ruleset. The official language of this tournament will be English.
Players will select a preferred time zone and weekend option and will be divided into groups based on CATAN Universe Auto Match Tournament capacity.
Players may only register for one Time Zone Group. Registering more than once will lead to disqualification. For any corrections to completed registration, email dcwc@catan.com prior to the start of the Ranking Qualifier weekends.
ZONE A (UTC -5), North and South America
ZONE B (UTC +1), Europe and Africa
ZONE C (UTC +5), Middle East and Central Asia
ZONE D (UTC +9) Eastern Asia, Australia, and New Zealand
Depending on the total number of Ranking Qualifier Event Groups, the top finishers from each Group will be selected to create a final Tournament Round of no more than 256 players. The total number of Groups, Ranking Qualifier Event dates, number of top finishers to be promoted from each Group, and number of alternates will be announced to players on the website, in the Discord server, and via email when Group assignments are revealed. This will be prior to the beginning of the Ranking Qualifier Event stage.
The Tournament Round on November 13, 2021 will consist of the top players from all Time Zone Groups. These players will participate in a single-elimination bracket event over one day (3-4 games). The ultimate winner will be celebrated as the first Digital CATAN World Champion!
All participants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to participate in an online game event.

The DCWC Ranking Qualifier events will take place starting the weekend of August 27, 2021. Ranking Qualifier events will be hosted until October 31, 2021. The final Tournament Round, a one-day, single-elimination bracket tournament, will be held on November 13, 2021. Participation in the tournament requires an active CATAN Universe account that has attained at least level 2 prior to the start of your Ranking Qualifying event. The email address you provide should match the email address registered with CATAN Universe. We also need your Country of residence so that we can plan accordingly based on time zone and language.
